Organising art-collaboration projects to raise money for charity

Sorry for the recent lack of updates (christmas period). Also, the 'temporary' website is currently not working due to problems with our host. Though the actual website is well underway and should hopefully be finished soon.

We are still waiting to clarify things with the charity and the printers. The briefs are being prepared so we've got them ready to send out.

WHO GETS TO DESIGN THE CARDS?

Because of the number of artists who have shown an interest in creating a card we have decided to rethink how we choose the artists/cards. Originally the idea was to enlist 52 artists and they would each make a card. However, due to the number of people interested, another option would be to let everyone create a card, but then we would have to pick the best 52 designs from the submissions for the final deck print, this would mean everyone gets the chance to design a card but not everyones designs would be included in the deck, they would all, of course, be showcased on the website and here and fully credited.

Anyway, to get a general opinion about this issue I will be setting a poll, please take the time to vote and express your opinon on this matter. Either way we will have to be ruthless about the designers/designs that we use.

Please note, if we, at project-art, wrote to you specifically to request your participation in the project then you are guarenteed to be printed.

Read it, love it, hate it, tell your friends, get the word around. I really want this to work, and right now I need a small team of people to help, and 55 artists.

The basic Idea
The idea for Project 52 is to gather a team of 55 people, each individual artists will design ONE playing card, and then the whole deck will be professionally printed and packaged...sold to the public and the money given to charity.
